New York State Tax Credit for Public and Workplace Charging. New York State provides an income tax credit of up to $5,000 for the purchase and installation of an electric vehicle charging station. The credit is targeted at commercial and workplace charging stations.
Partner with us to install new electric vehicle (EV) Level 2 or direct current fast charging (“DCFC”) stations. We can help you save money by defraying the cost to install the charging stations, funding 100% of the electrical infrastructure for approved projects and rebates for some charging station equipment installations. What’s New?

Currently, there are no more funds available for charging station rebates. Hawaii Energy is actively watching House Bill 1142 in the 2021 state legislative session as this bill would allow more state funds to be directed toward this purpose. Should this bill be signed into law, Hawaii Energy will provide updates and any new program information on this page. Eligibility may change from previous programs, so please check back here or our Frequently Asked Questions for the most current information.
